Meet Arkoo Adventures
Our Story
Arkoo is owned by Emily. Having toured Iceland in a very basic campervan and in her first van experience, Emily valued the flexibility of travelling with a home and the freedom this offered to adventuring. As a way to broker a healthier work-life balance, Emily adventures with Arkoo every month of the year. Arkoo is not only a rental vehicle but a well-maintained and comfortable adventuring home for Emily, to which she welcomes you.
Arkoo is named after a much loved African Grey Parrot adopted by Emily's grandparents when they lived in Africa. Arkoo travelled with them to the UK in the early 70s and was a chilled out parrot, with plenty of character, always provoking a laugh (through language and music mimicry) and happy memories.
Our adventure ethos embraces Arkoo's spirit, promoting well-being through exploration. We invite you to share in the joy of travel and adventure with us.

We hired Arkoo to go to a festival in Devon during August 2025. The booking process was painless, the price was decent. When we went to collect Arkoo the owner Emily was very flexible about the collection time, the handover was straightforward, but extremely thorough going through the workings of the van, so we felt confident to take it away. Arkoo is very easy to drive, we got to Devon in no time and others in the van field were saying how good the van looked. Everything we could possibly need for the weekend was included, Emily thoughtfully made sure there was three of everything as she knew there would be three of us. Within 10 minutes of parking up we had the awning out with the chairs under it and a nice, cold drink from the fridge in hand. At the end of the evening we came back and slept like babies in the super-comfy beds in the nice, cool van, no airbeds in a sweaty tent this year! After three days of fun at the festival there was no packing down and lugging stuff miles to the car, just retract the awning, pop the chairs in the van and head off home. With your own loo and shower, fridge, oven and hobs this beats camping hands-down, we’re hooked. Thanks very much Arkoo for making the weekend so much more comfortable than it has even been before. And thank you Emily for trusting us with Arkoo!
